In this upcoming feature, directed by Simon Cellan Jones, Wahlberg steps into the shoes of Dan Morgan, a devoted family man and car salesman whose clandestine former life as an elite covert operative threatens to upend his quiet suburban existence.

The narrative of The Family Plan involves Dan’s dangerous past catching up to him, prompting him to swiftly gather his family – his oblivious wife played by Michelle Monaghan, their teenage daughter wrestling with typical adolescent issues, their video game enthusiast son, and their charmingly young 10-month-old – and embark on a spontaneous cross-country escape to Las Vegas in their family minivan.

As the journey unfolds, Dan is forced to reactivate his rusty survival skills to safeguard his loved ones, all while attempting to keep his past a secret.

The cast is rounded out by notable talents, including Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Saïd Taghmaoui, Maggie Q, and Ciarán Hinds, with the screenplay crafted by David Coggeshall.

In a conversation with People, director Simon Cellan Jones expressed his admiration for Wahlberg’s professionalism and his cooperative nature on set, highlighting the actor’s innate ability to bring authenticity to his role. He also commended Wahlberg for being well-prepared and bringing valuable insights to his character while remaining open to collaborative efforts.

Jones was equally enthusiastic about the dynamic between Wahlberg and Monaghan, applauding their performance that convincingly portrays a married couple’s bond. He noted their exceptional chemistry and the comedic flair that they bring to the screen, ensuring that audiences will find their portrayal both relatable and entertaining.
