Under the leadership of Chad A. Verdi, known for The Irishman and Bleed for This, alongside Paul Luba, Chad Verdi, Jr., and Michelle Verdi, Verdi Productions is set to unveil three cinematic projects in 2024 that were previously shelved due to promotional constraints during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The labour stoppages have economically crippled numerous movie sector workers including performers, scriptwriters, directors, and technical staff. A significant number of these professionals were already juggling various employment roles to make ends meet, remarked Chad A. Verdi. The halt in producing movies primarily affected those living from hand to mouth rather than the affluent elite in the movie realm. Observing this devastating impact is disheartening. It’s imperative to negotiate a reasonable agreement for our union affiliates to resume their passion.
In alliance with VMI Worldwide, the production house aims to launch Junction as the calendar flips to January. This movie delves into the contemporary opioid epidemic from the perspectives of a pharmaceutical firm’s executive, a medical professional, and an individual under treatment. Bryan Greenberg will don multiple hats as the director, scriptwriter, and lead actor. The movie’s ensemble cast includes Ashley Madekwe, Griffin Dunne, Sophia Bush, Jamie Chung, Ryan Eggold, Dascha Polanco, and Josh Peck.
Set for a 2024 debut, Knockout Blonde is a documentary chronicling the life and times of Kellie Maloney, a transgender individual promoting boxing events. Maloney played a pivotal role in guiding Lennox Lewis to secure the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world title. In association with Art Factory movies, the documentary sheds light on Maloney’s struggles and triumphs while silently grappling with her transgender identity and simultaneously scaling heights in the boxing promotion world.
With Heather Graham at the helm as both director and scriptwriter, Chosen Family is slated for a premiere towards the end of 2024. In this cinematic piece, Graham embodies Ann, a yoga instructor striving for tranquillity amidst a whirlwind of familial chaos and disappointing romantic endeavours. Incapable of turning down requests, Ann invariably finds herself resolving dilemmas for others. As she seeks to mend fences with her sibling, her close-knit circle of friends becomes her pillar of support. The movie features Julia Stiles as Clio, Ann’s distant sister, with Thomas Lennon, Andrea Savage, John Brotherton, and Michael Gross complementing the cast.
Furthermore, beginning in March, Verdi Productions is gearing up to commence the production of four additional projects, with filming locations spanning Rhode Island, Italy, Monaco, and Thailand.
Recent offerings from the Verdi Productions stable encompass savage Salvation, Johnny & Clyde, Space Oddity, and Superpower. Source
