The countdown is on for the much-anticipated return of Jigsaw in Saw X, which will be released in just nine days. Tobin Bell reprises his role as John Kramer, who this time is in search of a cancer cure. Tickets have officially become available, and to mark the occasion, Fandango and Lionsgate have revealed a new featurette.
Director Kevin Greutert says the new film aims to capture the essence of the original Saw movies, as this instalment is set between the first two films in the franchise. Cinematographer Nick Matthews was instrumental in recreating the franchise’s signature gritty atmosphere. Producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules also revealed that the timeline of this film picks up just weeks after the events of the original Saw, hence the visual continuity.
The new film isn’t just about recreating old vibes; it’s also about innovating the franchise’s hallmark: the traps. A clip featuring a new eye vacuum trap gives viewers a hint of what to expect.

This instalment places a unique focus on the character of John Kramer, delving deeper into his humanity. This new dimension to the character was emphasized by Tobin Bell, who said he wants to highlight more of Kramer’s personal struggles in this instalment.
