Fans of the popular children’s franchise, Paw Patrol, have reason to rejoice as Spin Master Entertainment, Nickelodeon Movies, and Paramount Pictures are teaming up once again to deliver a third installment in the beloved series. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres in 2026, following the recent release of Paw Patrol: A Mighty Movie this past Friday.
Director Cal Brunker, known for his work on A Mighty Movie and the 2021 feature Paw Patrol: The Movie, will return to helm this new adventure. Paramount will handle distribution in the United States, while Elevation Pictures will oversee distribution in Canada.
Paw Patrol, which originally started as a TV show, has been entertaining youngsters for a decade. The series revolves around a tech-savvy boy and his team of heroic pups. The 2021 movie adaptation exceeded expectations at the box office, raking in $40 million domestically and an impressive $144 million worldwide. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as the movie debuted simultaneously on Paramount+ and faced the challenges of a pandemic-affected box office landscape. The sequel features a star-studded voice cast, including Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Bell, Christian Convery, Brice Gonzalez, Mckenna Grace, and Lil Rel Howery.
Jennifer Dodge, president of Spin Master Entertainment, emphasized the series’ enduring appeal, saying, that Paw Patrol has entertained generations of preschoolers while subtly teaching them the value of community, inclusiveness, and teamwork. She will produce the new movie alongside Spin Master’s Laura Clunie and Toni Stevens, Spin Master’s Senior VP of Entertainment Production and Operations. Spin Master co-founder Ronnen Harary will serve as an executive producer.
Paw Patrol is just one of the many animated franchises under Paramount’s umbrella. The studio is also working on animated features for Transformers, Smurfs, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation & Nickelodeon Animation, expressed enthusiasm for continuing the Paw Patrol legacy, stating, that Paw Patrol remains in a class of its own as a beloved and recognizable cultural touchstone for kids and families everywhere. Alongside our partners at Spin Master, we are so excited to continue to bring these pups’ big-screen adventures to Paw Patrol’s legion of fans around the world. Fans can eagerly anticipate more action-packed adventures from their favourite canine heroes when the third Paw Patrol movie arrives in theatres in 2026. Source
