The upcoming 2023 New York Film Festival has an exciting addition to its lineup – the highly anticipated noir thriller The Killer by director David Fincher. Scheduled to premiere on October 14 at the Paris Theater, with a second screening on October 15 at the Walter Reade Theater, the movie stars Michael Fassbender as a conflicted assassin. Originally featured in competition at the Venice Film Festival, The Killer will debut on Netflix for streaming on November 10.

Based on the graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent and Luc Jacamon, the adaptation was written for the screen by Andrew Kevin Walker, known for penning Seven. Produced by Ceán Chaffin, The Killer promises to be a gripping take on the source material.

In addition to Fincher’s latest, the Spotlight section of the New York Film Festival, presented by Film at Lincoln Center, will showcase several other highly-anticipated titles. These include Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, the world premieres of Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie’s Showtime series The Curse starring Emma Stone, and Garth Davis’ Foe with Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal.

Additional Spotlight selections are Hayao Miyazaki’s first movie in 10 years The Boy and the Heron and Richard Linklater’s Hit Man, co-written and starring Glen Powell. Kicking off September 29 and concluding October 15, the festival’s main slate contains diverse and compelling movies sure to thrill cinephiles.
