Insiders say a movie about Beyonce’s famous Renaissance World Tour is planned for release in AMC Theatres on December 1. The film, developed by Beyonce for years, will feature highlights from her 2023 concerts, parts of her visual album Renaissance, and a documentary on the album’s creation and tour setup, with appearances by Blue Ivy Carter. The mega-agency CAA has started discussing the project with major studios and streaming services. The tour is predicted to earn nearly $560 million from ticket sales.
Beyonce’s film deal is similar to Taylor Swift’s for her Eras Tour concert movie. Both artists financed their projects and will receive over 50% of the box office earnings. This new deal by AMC bypasses traditional studio partnerships, possibly affecting the movie industry’s future.
Details about the Beyonce project are kept secret, with the visual album’s shooting completed last November. Despite not releasing the music videos from a Grammy-winning album launched in July 2022, Beyonce continues to captivate her fans and the public.
Adding to the mystery is Beyonce’s previous deal with Netflix, which acquired her Coachella film Homecoming in 2019. The extent of her obligations to Netflix is unclear.
